Janae Vance, OD

Dr. Vance was born in Bakersfield and grew up in Wasco. In 2002 she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in pre-medicine and a minor in music at Fresno Pacific University. Dr. Vance continued her education at Southern California College of Optometry, and earned her Doctorate of Optometry in 2006. During her schooling, Dr. Vance underwent clinical training at the Optometric Center of Los Angeles and at two private practices specializing in contact lenses and vision therapy. Dr. Vance is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), the California Optometric Association (COA), and the Kern County Optometric Society.

Dr. Vance is licensed by the California Board of Optometry to use both diagnostic and therapeutic pharmaceutical agents. This allows her to treat a variety of eye conditions such as bacterial eye infections, corneal abrasions, ulcers, and ocular allergies. Dr. Vance also provides specialized services, such as fitting low-vision devices and specialty contact lenses for keratoconus or other conditions. Dr. Vance’s goal is to provide the best care possible to her patients.

When she is not helping patients, Dr. Vance likes spending time with her husband, James, and her son, Josiah. She enjoys playing the piano and is very involved in her church.
